RYA courses and Yacht tuition

Poole Sailing Ltd offer personalised instruction at all levels, including first time sailors by RYA qualified instructors.

As an RYA Recognised Training Centre we can offer the full range of practical RYA Sailing Courses from a Taster through to Coastal Skipper, Cruising Instructor and Yachtmaster preparation. We can also provide the use of the boats for Yachtmaster and International  Certificate of Competence Examinations.

Rob Gibson is a Yachtmaster Instructor and RYA examiner. Rob is the chief instructor and has many years of experience running his own sailing school. For more details of our courses please click here.

Our participation in a number of regattas on the South Coast, the Channel Islands and Ireland enable us to offer mile building and qualifying passages for Yachtmaster and Coastal skipper qualifications.

We can also offer specialised instruction to assist in marina manoeuvring and other boat handling operations. These are often popular with the partners of sailors who may rarely get the opportunity to take the helm and who want to establish competence in safety procedures particularly 'man overboard' drills.

Notes. 1) The above prices include food on board, waterproofs and fuel, but exclude berthing fees and examination fees for Yachtmaster and Coastal Skipper which are usually taken after the five day course over two days. 2) Competent Crew & Day Skipper couses can be taken over 5 weekdays or 2 days+3 Day weekend/bankholiday.

In addition to the events shown above Poole Sailing Ltd can provide tuition on your own yacht.
